Assistant Secretary Carl Artman visited this training center in September to present us with funds to
purchase new training equipment. While here he was able to see the skills and confidence the students have
aquired. We are thankful for the many graduates who gave up a days pay to come and give their support
for this program. Graduates came from as far away as Seattle and Omaha to attest that this program works.
Eric Dean (Ironworker's General Organizer) presented Mr Artman with an Ironworkers Membership. Also attending were Robert
Middleton (Director of Indian Energy and Economic Development) who was a great help in securing the funds for new equipment
and Jody Garrison from the same office who works with this program and puts up with us year round. Coming from Washington,
DC to Tour our training center and help us upgrade our equipment shows the ongoing partnership between the Bureau of
Indian affairs and the National Ironworkers Training Program for American Indians.
